Been kinda slow, but still just as busy as ever

Ok, so you guys should know the drill by now. Thursday's sculpting class resulted in a beach scene complete with a carrot/bell pepper palm tree and an apple bird and radish flowers.

Friday was the Fruit Torte!!

This cake made it all the way to Homecoming in Bashi lol

So, this weekend consisted of some pretty slow hog hunting...
Saturday we hunted that morning and of course we got skunked. Sunday, we had Homecoming/Father's Day/ Dad's birthday.... yea it was a big deal. So, Woody put it in Dad's mind that we should go hunting that afternoon, so we did lol. Meaning that I didn't get to go home Sunday night. We killed one pig right off the bat and so we thought it was gonna be a good day.... we were wrong! We hunted the rest of the afternoon and at 7:50pm we split up. Tanner, Patrick, and Andrew went to get Tanner's dog and me, Dad, Woody, and Melissa went on to the field. Finally, we decided not to wait on Tanner and we went down in the bottom and turned the dogs out. After the dogs hit the river I decided that I would walk up to the top of the little bottom and see if I could see anything and to get a little better service on the GPS. Well, while I was standing there 6 hogs came out in the middle of the road and just stopped and stared at me. I hollered back at dad and them and he said I ain't got no dogs to send you... I told him the only thing I could think.... "Send me Charlie" Well, by this time the hogs had made it to the middle of the big field with grass about knee-high. I can't for the life of me figure out what took him so long to turn Charlie a loose but it felt like forever. He turned Jase loose first which was a bad idea because Charlie doesn't like another dog comin to me first. Anyway, by the time Charlie got to me the hogs were long gone and he got on the track the left but I guess he heard our other dogs barkin and went back to them.
Anyone who knows me knows how I am about my Charlie! If he's gone I'm a wreck until I get him back. Sooo, finally we run up on Tanner and who do I find on top of Tanner's box? CHARLIE! So I hooked him up to his leash and he jumped off and went straight to a rutt filled with muddy water and just laid out Super-Man style. I didn't even care, I just let him lay there. He looked at me like, "Have you lost your mind Mom? I'm a short distance runner!!" LOL  And then we loaded everything up and went home!

Anyway, here's some random pics I forgot about.
The view on my drive back one Monday morning

Longest weekend of my life

Sculpting class on Thursday resulted in the creation of my watermelon rose...

And on Friday, in my European Torte class we manufactured a Hawaiian Pineapple Torte....

So, after that class I made the 3 hour drive home in my uniform lol. Mom had made me a scrumptious meal of mashed potatoes, gravy, deer meat, and brown sugar green beans with bacon. And after I ate I rode over to Candice's to get my eyebrows waxed. Well, while I was there it started flooding, so I waited the rain out at her house. Well, finally about 7pm the rain stopped and I walked to my car to head home. As soon as I sat down in my car Dad called. He said, "The hogs are probably stirrin, do you wanna hunt tonight?" I told him if I went Friday night that I wasn't getting up and going Saturday morning. He said ok. I drove back home, changed clothes AGAIN, loaded everything up and away we went. At 8:30pm (pitch black dark) we turned to dogs loose... at 2:15 am Saturday morning I walked in my door, took a shower, and died. We caught nothing!! Not even a track!!
Putting the cut-vests on

Henry showing his bootaay lol

Talkin to the boys. Told Charlie I would never take him night hunting again, because I am never going again.

I don't anyone to worry. We have a night hunting permit for hogs, so we were completely legal!

At 9:30 am Saturday morning I was up and around. Dad had gone golfing with Shannon and had taken his truck to town. I had left my wallet and the dog collars in the backseat of his truck. Since I had to go to town anyway, I figured I would just make a day of it. I visited Lisa and she treated me a lunch/dinner at Sonic. And then on the Grove Hill to visit with the friends and boyfriend. I had just gotten to Grove Hill when dad called and said that I was gonna have to drive him home because he was too drunk. I met him at Shannon's at 12:30am Sunday and drove him home. We hooked up the trailor, I hooked up all the collars and set an alarm for 4:30am. Once again, we hunted all-day and caught NOTHING!!!

Anyway, we had a funeral at 2pm. We had to race to town to get some chicken for the family, race home, take a shower, and go to the funeral. We got home and dad washed my truck while I tried to contact a woman about a dog that my mom so graciously went and got from Montgomery...

We got her in today and I got rid of my lab to make room for her :)

Anyway, we decided to ride to the sandbar and pick up the fourwheeler that quit running Friday night/ Saturday morning and then we rode to Campbell's Landing and visited with some people down there. And washed my clothes, packed the car, and finally at 9:30pm I sent Pat home and I went to bed. I then had to get up at 3am this morning and make the 3 hour drive back and then take a test in a class that started at 8am this morning and ended around one. Needless to say, i'm dead on my feet and ready for some SLEEP!! But, it's worth it!!

Bringin the "ol' timers" back!!

Well, Thursday I had my sculpting class and we made seahorses out of a honey dew melon

And then on Friday we made the Lutetia torte..... basically, a chocolate over-load!!

And then, finally, my uniforms came in....

Anyway, now lets get down to business... HOGS
On Thursday, Dad got an invite to take our dogs to Portland... he called and we talked about and he went! I'm glad that he did because Charlie got to show out!!

The name of this is bringing back the ol' timers. Back when my dad first started hog hunting, he hunted with a man named Louis Armistead and his kids Henry and Lisa.

Henry went with us Sunday and said that he might have the fever again.... HOG FEVER!!
Anyway, Saturday we had our normal crew and the normal 3...

We caught this BAD-ASS hog first thing. he was rooting in the middle of the road when we came in. Didn't take the dogs long to find him and lock him down... unfortunately we didn't have any cut vests on so we had to leave the dogs baying until we could get them on... and then it was on!! We used both Charlie and Jase and surprisingly Charlie finished with no cuts.... Jase wasn't as lucky...

He cut better over her eye, but she came back with a vengeance and has been hunting the best she ever has!

Melissa was workin real hard!! LOL

See the cut in the back? The cutters sliced clean through his cut vest... it saved his life though because that is a heart shot and the cut vest kept it from going all the way through!

Dad did a good job SEWING Jase's leg muscle back together! Can't even tell where his stitches are!!

And then, Sunday... when Henry came back into the game!!

Henry is the man in BLUE

We finally broke the 3 curse

Yall should have seen us trying to get these hogs in the pen with that mean hog from Saturday! It was not pretty! I took a video but idk if I can get to be on here lol
